Archived Policy

1. Purpose and Scope

The Agricultural and Biotechnological Reflections (ABR) is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation and accessibility of all its published content. This Archiving Policy applies to all articles, datasets, supplementary materials, and any other content published by the journal.

2. Digital Archiving

ABR will deposit all published articles, papers, and content in reputable digital repositories to ensure their permanent accessibility. These repositories include, but are not limited to:

  • PKP’s LOCKSS system (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe)
  • Internet Archive
  • Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ)
  • National digital archives or university-affiliated repositories

3. Backup and Redundancy

The journal will maintain regular backups of all content stored on its servers. The content will be mirrored across multiple locations to ensure security and redundancy in case of system failures.

4. Long-Term Availability

All published articles will remain freely accessible via the journal’s website and in digital archives, with no expiration date. ABR commits to ensuring that articles are available for reading, download, and citation by researchers and the public, in line with the principles of open access.

5. Metadata Preservation

In addition to preserving the full text of articles, ABR will ensure that metadata related to each article (e.g., author details, publication dates, keywords, abstract) are maintained. This metadata will be deposited in global metadata repositories to facilitate indexing and discoverability.

6. File Formats

To ensure that articles remain accessible over time, ABR will use widely accepted and sustainable file formats, including:

  • PDF for text-based content
  • CSV, Excel, or similar for data-related content
  • XML for metadata

7. Withdrawal and Retraction Policy

If an article needs to be retracted or withdrawn due to ethical or legal concerns, the journal will provide clear communication to readers regarding the status of the article. The retraction or withdrawal will be archived with a clear indication that the article has been retracted, alongside a brief explanation for the withdrawal, if applicable.

8. Archiving Rights and Licensing

All authors submitting articles to ABR will retain copyright to their works. The journal will ensure that articles are made available under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license unless otherwise specified. Authors will grant ABR the right to archive and distribute their works globally, ensuring continued access for future generations of researchers.

9. Policy Updates

This Archiving Policy will be reviewed periodically and updated as necessary to reflect evolving technologies and practices in digital preservation. Any significant changes to the policy will be communicated to authors and stakeholders.
